1  General Category / Logistics & Warehousing / Celebrity Diet Secrets to Lose Body Fat Fast on: May 11, 2010, 06:58:07 PM
Short Term Planning

Although celebrities and models look like they're in great shape, they aren't always good examples of how to maintain a healthy body weight. Most actors and celebrities will add additional pounds when they're not in front of cameras, often as much as twenty or thirty pounds.

Several weeks before a new movie or television season is when most celebrity diets will begin. It leaves them a very short period of time to lose a large amount of weight. It doesn't leave room for conventional meal planning and weight loss tactics because their goals are very near term.

Dieters should also remain skeptical of pictures and magazine covers praising a celebrity diet, because most published photos are heavily edited to make the celebrity appear thinner.

Drastic Weight Loss

When it's time for a celebrity to lose weight, they often turn to the latest fad diet that promises drastic weight loss in a very short time frame. It is not difficult to manipulate your body into extreme weight loss for very short periods of time.

If you were to slash your calories to a bare minimum of 1500 calories for men, and 1200 calories for women, you would begin to drop weight quickly because your body doesn't have enough resources to maintain a high body weight. The drawback of such actions is your body will eventually adapt to an extreme fad diet.

Your body can destroy muscle tissue to supplement the lack of calories, and it can enter what's known as "starvation mode" which increases the likelihood of storing more body fat in the future.

Celebrities can face the consequences of an extreme diet, because they will be off camera when their body does a "yo-yo" and returns to their normal body weight.
2  General Category / Logistics & Warehousing / Yoga - To Chant Or Not to Chant? on: May 11, 2010, 06:57:17 PM
When I took my first Integral Yoga class in San Francisco, the teacher opened with breathing and chanting, which I had never heard before. It was new and a bit strange to the ear, but I couldn't help noticing the shift into calmness that it brought. The class ended with more breathing, chanting, and meditation, and I felt transformed upon leaving. When I graduated, I vowed to myself that I wouldn't eliminate the chanting for the sake of the masses. Many teachers chose not to chant when they taught outside the institute, so as not to scare people away..I loved the chanting and their melodies and being a singer, it gave me an opportunity to express that through yoga.

I began subbing for other teachers at health clubs, colleges, studios, and community centers to get my foot in the door. Almost no one had done or heard chanting in a yoga class before, and most found it odd while others really found it cool and beneficial.

When I got hired at Kaiser in Fremont, Ca. there really was no yoga available around that area, and for most,it was their first time taking a class. This gave me an incredible opportunity to teach them what yoga is, chanting, meditation, and all. Because if it's peoples first or nearly first time taking yoga, they use my class as the basis for all others. When they try other classes, they are surprised that there is no chanting, very little pranayama, and a very short savasana. To this day, even though yoga is much more available, I still get the people who are fairly new to it and most enjoy it, while I lose others for various reasons.

I realize that not everyone will resonate with this type of class, and I try my best to prepare students on the first class, that the chanting might sound strange at first, but to give it a chance. It really does deepen the experience, grounding and calming all our energies.. I have to admit, that I sometimes omit the opening chants for the pre-natal students, because most of them will only be taking yoga during their pregnancy, but will not continue afterwards.
3  General Category / Logistics & Warehousing / Tips to Buy R4 DS Cards on: May 11, 2010, 06:56:16 PM
The R4 DS card is known for its quality to convert Nintendo DS or NDS into a gaming system. It is also important to convert NDS into a movie or MP3 player and even an e-Book reader. Buying an R4 DS card can be problematic for those who do not know the features and uses of this card. Let us discuss some of the buying tips of this card.

R4 DS is one of the popular cards available in the market. While buying any card, the buyer should check it out thoroughly for the seller's authorization. Unauthorized sellers might not give genuine products. The card needs to be checked for defects and it should be in working condition. It is always preferable to check the warranty if the seller is not giving any documents. There should be an exchange policy in case the card has manufacturing problems.

When you are using the card, try to store all your files in a separate game folder. It should be a kind of directory in the card. The benefits of creating a game folder is to search for the place you have stored your game. In case of music and videos, you need to create a separate folder. If you put all the songs in one folder, then you should make a point that there are no conflicts in the file names.

While buying an R4 DS card, all these have to be checked thoroughly. It is always better to have all the games in your computer hard disk as a safety measure. All the games need to have a backup and it should be checked twice a week approximately. The card should not be inserted and removed repeatedly to add or delete any game or music. This can create unwanted data loss.

Are you a video game enthusiast or someone whose kid has been nagging you all month to buy an R4 card for their Nintendo game? The term may sound alien to some, but for those who enjoy the world of video gaming and multimedia, it is a cartridge that enables one to play the Nintendo games. The cartridge finds its use in the Nintendo games via a Nintendo DS storage device that can store commercial video games and other multimedia items like movies.

Technically What They Are

Technically, R4 cartridges work through a compatible Nintendo storage device. This storage device is basically of two types, namely SLOT-1 and SLOT-2. While SLOT-2 were the first generation games, SLOT-1 are the latest in the gaming technology in this field. These cards are dependent on external memory sticks for storage, and microSD memory cards are used for this purpose. These cards are conveniently priced and come in different memory sizes leaving it to the user's discretion which card is best for them. The memory cards are fitted on top of the cartridges and can be detached.

To set up any one of the R4 flash cards on your console, its operating system must be installed. These operating systems come along with the card in form of CDs, or better still are easily downloadable from the card's official website. Installation process in itself is simple, and requires three steps to be followed. First, is the process of download itself; followed by extraction of the downloaded files onto the computer; and lastly, transferring the files relevant to the game card onto the memory card.

Once installed, it is just a matter of familiarizing oneself with the layout of the operating system before being able to actually use it to play games. That is also made very simple for the users. The main menu is well defined in its layout, and player is required to select the correct option- whether it is games, multimedia or boot slot-2. The pattern of the games menu further is a simple scroll up-scroll down function.
5  General Category / Logistics & Warehousing / Nintendo DS Lite Features and Benefits on: May 11, 2010, 06:52:24 PM
Don't let the small size of the Nintendo DS Lite fool you. Since it's release in 2006 the Nintendo DS Lite and its older brother, the Nintendo DS, have broken sales records that would make even their big competitors from Sony and Microsoft jealous. In fact, 3 million units flew off the shelves in the month of December 2008 breaking a record previously held by the Sony Playstation 2.

The Nintendo DS Lite is so popular that many people are clamoring to purchase a unit and for the cheapest price they can afford. One of the reasons the Nintendo DS is so popular is because kids can take the console wherever they need to go. So while their parents are driving them all over town on errands the kids are happily occupied playing their Nintendo DS Lite.

The Nintedo DS Lite is unlike any other hand-held video game unit created before and features a design that folds in your hand. There are dual color screens on each half of the console that look as good and bright as a LCD television screen (but just a little smaller!). The screens are sensitive to touch and this creates a gaming experience unlike any other handheld game console. The brightness of the screens can be adjusted to save battery life or to allow for game play in different lighting conditions.

Another great feature of the Nintendo DS is the ability to play games with your friends using the built-in wireless Wifi technology. As long as your friend also has a Nintendo DS you can play against each other even if they live on the other side of the world. But even if they live across the street that's OK too. The Nintendo DS also has a separate slot for Game Boy Advance Games. So you don't need to get rid of any of your old Game Boy games. The Nintendo DS Lite is also much smaller and compact than the original Nintendo DS.

The stylus which comes with the Nintendo DS Lite is longer and thicker than the previous Nintendo DS version. There also is a handy storage slot for the stylus so you don't lose it. The battery lasts for about 19 hours on one charge and the LED lights will indicate whether or not you need to connect the charger.
