General Category / Transportation / How to Stop the "Physical Memory Dump" Error
|

The "Physical Memory Dump" error is a Windows blue screen error that often shows on a computer that has some serious errors inside. This error is typically shown when your PC either has corrupt software or incompatible hardware, and is designed to "dump" your Windows settings, to prevent any permanent damage from happening to your system. To fix this problem, you need to be able to follow several key steps which will fix the various issues that cause this error...
The first thing you need to do is to make sure that all your hardware is compatible. If you've just added any piece of hardware to your PC (even a USB stick), then you should either remove it or revert back to your old setup immediately. As all hardware is created by different companies, the likelihood of some parts of it not working with one-another are pretty high; and so you should keep vigilant to this particular problem if you've just changes / added any hardware to your PC.
If you've not touched the hardware of your system, then this error is going to be caused by a software problem. There are many software issues that can cause errors on your PC, but the main cause of the "Physical Memory Dump" error is actually down to the way many programs tend to have corrupt or damaged program files. You will especially see this error occurring with the likes of Adobe Photoshop and some games, as they are the ones that require huge numbers of program files to run. If you notice any particular program causing the physical memory dump error, you should reinstall the program immediately, as that will replace all the potentially damaged program files on your PC, allowing your system to run as smoothly as possible again.

General Category / Transportation / The Benefits of Document Management
|

With business comes paperwork-lots of it, and that paperwork can quickly grow to such a level that managing it may seem overwhelming. Despite the push toward a paperless office and society, paper documents are still a huge part of our lives. This has created the issues of document storage and document management. Scanning documents and storing them digitally goes a long way, but if done incorrectly it can make a document management problem even worse. Organization is key. Today's businesses need cost effective, secure, and easy to use document management solutions.
By far, the biggest benefit of document management is the money it can save. Let's look at an example. Say you have an employee who earns $17 an hour. It takes him 10 minutes to go to the file room, locate a file and return to his desk, and another 5 for him to return the file when he's done with it. That's 15 minutes per file. Now imagine he needs to do that an average of 5 times per day. That's over 300 hours of filing per year at a cost of $5100. Now multiply that by the number of employees you have and you can see how costly it can be to not have a good solution! A system of digital documents that lets your employees find what they need without leaving their desks, and with just a few clicks, can save you business money and time. Add to that the savings that come from not needing extra office space to devote to file cabinets or having to rent warehouse or storage space for your archives and how can you not afford to have a strong document management solution?

General Category / Transportation / Computer Forensics - Demand Equals Big Money
|

In a world where crooks are becoming more computer proficient and for every fix there is an "undo" created, the field of computer forensics is paying big bucks. Though there are not currently a lot of stringent or even specific education or experience requirements in place, only due to the novelty of this up and coming field, you can expect that training and experience will elevate you to "highly sought after" status very quickly.
Salaries tend to vary widely at this point. For example, those who are working in the public or government sector, such as civilians working for law enforcement, computer knowledgeable police officers, military personnel with specialized training and civilian contractors working for government or state agencies will be on the lower end of the pay scale. They are normally paid a pre-determined salary and in today's economy it has become clear that many states and localities are operating in the red. That said, this is a field that cannot be cut. The risks are too great to ignore the need for this specialized form of crime fighting and regardless of budget constraints, you can expect to have a salary in the starting range of $50,000 to $75,000. Of course, your earning potential can fluctuate based on your experience, college degrees you may have, secret clearances and upon your more recent training.

General Category / Transportation / Sports Products on the Internet

It is said that the internet is still in its infancy. Millions of people use the internet daily while the large percentage of the population of the world hasn't even been exposed to it yet.
Everyday more and more people learn how to use a computer and navigate the internet looking for products to buy. Affiliate marketing is big business now. Everyone wants to stay home and start a business on the internet. That means websites to sell products are popping up faster than the time it takes to make microwave popcorn.
It's to bad the internet is going in the same direction as big business. You have to spend big money for AdWords and bidding to get highly ranked. I hope Google, Yahoo and the other search engines that control ranking and SEO leave a little room for the little guy and girl trying to compete in this ever growing market.
The internet is like the universe. It is constantly expanding which means you have more choices when looking to buy online but it also means you will have to search more sites to find what you need.
I believe there is a new trend starting that will combine companies on one website to offer you more choices so you don't have to do so much surfing.
Lets take sports products for example. Wouldn't you like to type in what you are looking for in the search box and a few great sites come up offering you many choices instead of one company offering only their goods.

General Category / Transportation / Mapping Postal Codes

In order to stay ahead of the competition, businesses must actively seek out and locate their targeted customer in order to effectively market their products and services. Today, there is much more involved to finding effective methods to reach potential customers than just advertising in traditional places such as the Yellow Pages. It often involves effective business analysis of various regions of the market. Fortunately, advancements in technology have now given businesses the ability to gather consumer data and target potential customers. One such technology is geocoding software.
Mapping postal codes allows marketers to target customers by gathering and analyzing such information as the type of dwellings in an area such as homes, apartments, and condominiums, dwelling characteristics such as if the home is located on a farm or in an urban area, and whether the home is a single or two person or more family, As well, there are specialty business mapping solutions that provide such data as demographics, consumer expenditure, location of retailers and other businesses, the distance consumers are to businesses in the region, types of businesses in the area, etc.
