Dancehall is a genre of music produced in Jamaica. It is derivative variation of reggae, which talks about political and faith based topics (but not nearly as much as roots reggae would). It primarily started to appear in the mid 1980s, digital sounds grew to become more well-liked, transforming the 'sound' significantly, with digital dancehall.
